Eli by Peter #7 - ‘Fragmented Life'

For this edition of Eli by Peter, our subscribers receive a framed, unique work. This work is part of a series of precisely one hundred collages. These collages are based on printed photographs from one of Eli's photo series. To these images, Peter applied his technique of 'tape transfers.' With pieces of tape, I loosened fibers, shredded the pictures, and generated new paper fragments. Combined, these then built a new story, layer by layer.

The images Peter used to build his collages came from ‘Le Welcome’ - a series of fragments from life in the South of France, where Eli had photographed over the last five years.
